How to refresh your import data on eFiling

How to get your new IRP5 showing on eFiling

If your employer, medical aid, retirement annuity, or investment fund has informed you that the tax certificate they provided is outdated and that they have sent a new tax certificate to SARS, but your tax return is still displaying old data, what steps can you take to fix this issue?

We've had a couple of taxpayers over the years contact us with this problem, and fortunately there is actually quite a simple way to fix it.

Please follow these steps:

1.  Log into your eFiling profile and click on the tax return you are struggling with.

2. On the Income Tax Workpage, click on "Refresh Data",

3. On the Refresh Data page, select the boxes applicable such as IRP5 data, Medical Data, Retirement Annuity Data,   Investment Income or Tax Free investment and click "OK".

4. Now open the tax return again, your new data should be reflecting.

If the new data still does not show, please contact the relevant company (such as your employer, medical aid, retirement annuity, or investment fund) and ask them to verify whether their updated submission was received and acknowledged by SARS, and when this occurred. If SARS acknowledged receipt, it could still take a few days for things to show, so don't give up - give SARS at least a day or two and try the top 3 steps again.
