Will SARS pay interest for their delay? When will I get my money?

Hi Tim, I submitted my IRP5 and supporting documents on the 11th July 2013. They told me it will take 21 working days for me to get my money but I have not received anything yet. Will SARS pay interest to me for their delay? When will I get my money?

Unfortunately SARS do not pay interest for amounts owing within the assessment period. They can actually take up to 1 year to pay out so the best thing to do is to be patient and forget about it until you get that great SMS telling you about the bank deposit. It has been 30 days, so hopefully this will happen sooner rather that later.
