I have not received my tax refund and it is the 18th of the month. My tax return was submitted on the the 3rd of this month.

Your refund was due to be paid out on 2021/11/06 but the refund instruction was reversed by SARS.

The refund was reversed with the the following most likely reasons:
- There is a special stopper on your account; and/or
- You have two valid bank accounts reflecting on your registered details.

You will need to request an online SARS appointment  to update your details and request the special stopper to remove from your account to escalate the refund pay out.

Are there specific details or documents in general that I need to upload, and how do I do that?

Normally, SARS requires the following documents for this update/request:
- Certified copy of ID
- Stamped bank statement, not older than 3 months
- Proof of address, not older than 3 months
- Photo of you holding up your ID document and a page which states your request and the case
number

The case number will be provided to you once you have requested the appointment. Thereafter, you will need to upload the document to SARS' online query system. It is best to upload the documents as a PDF document and not in other formats.
