What is the meaning of tax directive i.r.o pension payment?

What does: "Dear GEPF member. SARS issued a tax directive i.r.o your pension payment. Payment will be effected within 5 working days. GEPF queries 0800117669 that mean?"

This means that your pension fund payout you are receiving from the GEPF will be subject to tax on the amount and that SARS has already taken the tax off. You will receive the amount after tax.

So SARS decides when the money is released and where do I find out the amount due to be paid?

You can call the GEPF on that toll free line or if you know the amount in the fund you can use our Lump sum calculatorto work out the after tax benefit.
