What is "taxable income" on my payslip?

On my payslip there is a huge amount called taxable income, what is it?
Do I owe SARS or is it owing me?

This is the figure representing your income earned (usually after some deductions) that SARS uses to calculate the Pay-As-You-Earn / PAYE tax that your employer pays over to SARS automatically on your behalf.
