Waiting period for retirement from GEPF?

How long does a retirement file from GEPF take in SARS for a pay out date? I took my retirement claim at GEPF and completed all forms they gave me but I have waited so long with no reply.

It should take less than 24 hours at SARS, however the GEPF could take up to a few months to finalise their administration internally prior to sending the claim to SARS. It's best that you try and speak to someone at the GEPF and hear what the hold up could be.
