I worked abroad on a ship for 8 months and want to know if I exempt from paying tax and how do I go about ensuring I am exempt when filing the tax return.

Yes you will be exempt, when you file the tax return please enter this amount under the "'amounts not considered taxable" section of the tax return under where it says s10(1)(o)(i)
