TaxTim says: 5 April 2016 at 9:58 Unfortunately, SARS does require part time workers/students to get taxed at 25% - however, if you are earning below the threshold of R75,000 for the tax year, you don't need to pay tax. You could inform the company of your situation and ask them to stop deducting tax if possible? If they do not comply, you will be eligible to claim all this tax back when you complete your tax return for the year.
