Anon says: 23 January 2016 at 16:32 I recently did my tax return for the first time as this is my second year been employed, my tax return showed -R2133 I was than asked for additional documentation I submitted my IRP5 and Medical aid certificate. After that I was selected for an audit and after about a week I received my statement of account but I still have not received my refund does this mean the process is complete? I noticed that on the statement of account under audit it says "yes". Whats does that mean and how long does this process take? |
TaxTim says: 25 January 2016 at 18:07 This means you have been selected for audit verification i.e. to submit supporting documents. You should receive a "Completion Letter" once the audit is complete - this can take up to 30 working days after submitting your documents. Once the letter has been received, you should receive your refund in a couple of days provided you are up to date with all your prior year tax filings. You can always call SARS on 0800 007 277 to find out how far they are with the audit. |
