I have submitted my supporting documents directly to SARS as per their request, but somehow it seems like they still need something more from my side? Can you please assist me regarding this as I am very much confused? I initially thought that I have submitted all the documents which they need and now they are back asking for more.

After submitting your documents to SARS, they will send you another email which is a verification email of RECEIPT OF SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS (which means that your documents were received by them).
We have checked your supporting documents against your tax return and we can verify that all your necessary documents have been sent to SARS. Please note that Once the audit process is finished, SARS has 60 business days to issue a Letter of Completion and to also generate a second, revised ITA34 showing if the refund or amount owing has changed or stayed the same.  Please see our blog on Additional-assessments for more information on:
  1. Receive a request for additional documents; or
  2. Receive a Completion Letter; or,
  3. Receive an Additional Assessment
Hopefully, this blog clarifies many of your questions about Additional Assessments and will help you to understand them better going forward. If however, you are still left confused, please don’t hesitate to ask.
