Rockstar says: 16 June 2016 at 2:46 I am a South African citizen, working in the USA (on a work visa/permit). I have been studying and then working in the USA for the full tax year (Mar 2015 - Feb 2016). In total, I have been away from South Africa for 2 years. I pay taxes in the USA. Am I required to submit tax returns in South Africa? Do I just submit a nil amount, do I not submit anything at all or do I submit my US earnings and get double taxed? Thanks. |

If yes, and you did not earn any income in South Africa you will need to file a How to submit a nil return to ensure that your tax affairs are in order, should you return to South Africa.
