Fiona says: 10 February 2016 at 20:01 I filed my tax return and it was selected for verification. I then submitted the documents for review and noticed that I had made a mistake on my tax return. I filed a request for correction and then got a notice that I needed to submit supporting documents as the information on my tax return did not match their records. Is this normal when submitting a request for correction or am I being audited? |
TaxTim says: 11 February 2016 at 16:50 It is very common for SARS to request to see supporting documents after you have submitted your tax return. It sounds likely that they will issue you a revised assessment if your records submitted did not match your original submission. It might be best to call them on 0800 007 277 to find out exactly what they require now with regards to the RFC. |
Fiona says: 11 February 2016 at 17:03 Thanks I will do that - do you think I will need to resumbmit the IRP5 and statement I sent through the first time or will they just access those on tthe system? I also forgot to upload the barcoded doc - hope that doesn't make too much of a difference. |
TaxTim says: 11 February 2016 at 18:36 You shouldn't have to resubmit - they should have that on their system. When you call them, ask if they need the barcoded letter too. |
