Malaika says: 2 February 2017 at 21:19 Dear Tim, I am a foreign non resident and own a property in South Africa from which I gain rental income of about R6500 gross per month, or around R4000 after expenses. It has lately come to my attention that I may need to pay tax on this. How do I get started? I rarely visit South Africa. |
TaxTim says: 3 February 2017 at 12:04 You can submit a tax return to SARS in order to declare the income, you might however not be liable to pay tax on it so you will declare the income and then declare your expenses against it. Register for TaxTim and we'll help you file your tax returns to SARS. You are also required to submit provisional tax returns, kindly read our blog on What is Provisional Tax? How and when? |
