I have been referred for audit for my 2015 tax returns, why would this be the case and how long does SARS take to finalize for payment if due. best regards

SARS generally audit 1 out of 4 taxpayers and there can be any number of reasons such as earning extra income, having a travel allowance and claiming a deduction and a few others. The audit can take 21 days to complete and then you will receive a Letter of Completion which will have the result of your audit.
