I lost my job in August 2013 and I did not submit my tax returns. Can I still submit or are there any penalties imposed or is not necessary?

How much were you earning and did you pay tax?
Have you worked since then?

I was earning R110 000 p.a and yes I was paying tax. I haven't worked ever since.

You should submit for the 2014 tax year as there is a chance you may be due a refund.
There may be a small late filing penalty imposed but it would still be worth submitting the tax return in order to bring your compliance up to date and potentially earn a refund.

Please make use of our Tax refund calculator to see if you are due a refund.
