Glen says: 4 July 2015 at 15:10 Hi Tim. I was the bookkeeper for a cc until end Jan 2015 when they closed doors. The only member passed away in Dec 2014 with no will. I have contacted the attorneys who will be dealing with his estate to ask them for my IRP5. Their response was that they have been waiting for 4 months to be appointed as executors and do not know when they will be appointed. How do I submit my tax return this year? I went to SARS with payslips and bank statements and they advised that they can not assist in obtaining the IRP5. They've only got the Aug 2014 submission on file which I did back when I was still working for the cc. I am worried that this will not be resolved by Nov if I don't start asking now. |
TaxTim says: 4 July 2015 at 19:18 In the event that you are unable to submit your final return and SARS does penalise you then you can have this reversed due to this matter being out of your control. It is unfortunate that this has happened, but can you as the bookkeeper not prepare the final accounts for submission? |
Glen says: 5 July 2015 at 14:14 Hi Tim. Thank you for the response. I can not complete the return as I do not know what happened in the books after I left on sick leave in January 2015. I do not know what they paid in February 2015 and I don't know how the company closed. I also do not have access to the bank statements to check. I don't know if they are going to pay the employees packages (retrenched) etc. Therefore I do not know what the final salary calculations were for February 2015. I whish I could submit the EMP501 as this would make my life a lot easier. I'll then just have to wait on the executor to be appointed. |
