TaxTim says: 14 April 2016 at 9:55 You won't pay any tax on a salary of R5,000 per month. The tax threshold is currently R75,000 per year and therefore you won't pay tax if you earn below this amount. However, all employees do need to be registered with SARS and therefore have a tax number even if they don't pay tax. Your employer might be able to register for you online using SARS eFiling - do check with them if this is possible? Otherwise please read our blog on How to get a SARS tax number |
