Reg says: 2 December 2015 at 12:14 Is it advisable or unadvisable to make multiple payments on a specific IRP6 for a specific provisional tax period? I have underestimated my income for a specific period, and have already made a payment for the period concerned (this was due to a CG event as a result of a unit trust switch). I'm concerned that SARS will only allocate one of the payments to the provisional tax period in question, and that I may have problems getting additional payments I make allocated to my account. |
TaxTim says: 2 December 2015 at 18:51 You should rather add the extra payment to the second provisional tax return as SARS will have difficulty allocating multiple payments to one provisional filing. |
Reg says: 3 December 2015 at 14:15 Thanks for advise - I have already done the IRP6's for 2016(1) & 2016(2) and made payments on both, but it looks like, due to CG on a unit trust switch, that I have under-estimated my income for these submissions, I suppose I will have to make the voluntary provisional tax third payment later on (but I believe this tends to trigger an audit and delay the outcome of the final ITR12 when submitted). Thanks again and I did not know I could do provisional submissions via your service, but now I know its possible. Will do next ITR12 via taxtim. P.S Also how do I refer a friend to taxtim? |
