Phil says: 1 July 2015 at 8:33 I did not receive a travel allowance, but on my IRP5 there is R25,000 with the code 3713. Any travel I did for the employer I claimed back as a reimbursed claim. Is the R25000 correct? Additionally, there are codes for 3801 and 3702 which I believe are incorrect. Can you clarify what these might be for? |
TaxTim says: 1 July 2015 at 9:50 Source code 3702 is for reimbursive travel. How much did they pay you per km and how many km did you do? 3801 is for any other benefit you may have received, did you receive a cell phone allowance? What are the amounts under 3702 and 3801? |
Phil says: 1 July 2015 at 12:01 I recieved R3.25 per KM and my total KM for the year was 592km. The value for 3702 is R1950 and for 3801 its R3282. I did not receive any cell phone or any other allowance as part of my monthly salary, I claimed any expenses AFTER they occurred including cell, ADSL, petrol and standby. |
TaxTim says: 2 July 2015 at 12:01 Your IRP5 is wrong, if you are travelling less than 8000km for work and reimbursed at AA rates then this is not taxable and should be put under source code 3703. Your employer needs to correct this else you will be taxed on this. The 3801 and 3713 needs to be queried as from what you tell us there is nothing else that they should be adding to your income. I think you should go back to your employer and ask what these amounts are. |
