I'm starting to do consulting on an adhoc basis and would therefore not be issued any tax related documents from my clients. How do I go about handling my tax? Is there a percentage I need to keep aside for SARS? please help me with where to start.

Do you invoice the clients at all?

Yes I will be.

You will then have to register as a Provisional Taxpayer and submit 3 tax returns a year to SARS. Have a look at our SARS income tax calculator to see what the tax on your expected annual income would be and then begin keeping some money aside to settle the taxes which you will owe.
