Elde says: 7 February 2016 at 14:27 My workers eat lunch daily and I pay for it out of the business profit. Can I deduct this amount and how much of it can I deduct? They eat about R100. 00 worth of food and drink per day and I keep all these slips. Can this be deducted under "entertaining"? |
TaxTim says: 8 February 2016 at 17:21 If its legitimate business related expenditure and these meals occur during work hours, then yes it can be deducted. There is no real limit as such, but SARS will assess the entertainment expenditure in relation to your total turnover and will disallow any expenditure that looks excessive. However you may need to tax them on this amount as a fringe benefit. |
