Licious says: 12 September 2015 at 12:39 Hello TaxTim, I'm planning on becoming a tutor at a university that I'm currently at and they told me they need my tax number. I'm not sure exactly how much I'd earn, however I've been told it is not much; actually something like R1000-R1500 per month depending on the module. Would I be expected to pay tax, if yes please kindly tell me how much? |
TaxTim says: 14 September 2015 at 8:10 No, you would not be expected to pay tax, but you will need to register for a tax number. If they do deduct PAYE due to being a part-time employee then you will be able to claim this back at the end of the tax year. This PAYE would be at 25%, but you would get it all back when you file a tax return. |
