I have changed my SARS bank details, now what?

I have filed my tax return and SARS has asked for supporting documents, which I have submitted via eFiling. The SARS Status says 'AVS Bank with AVS verification pass'. I would like to know what this mean.I am also expecting a refund due to me.Thank Tim.

Did you go into a SARS branch and follow the steps in the article above?

Thanks Tim. Would I need to go to the branch for this? I have was getting paid on ABSA savings account previously and I now I get paid on the ABSA Cheque account. The savings account is still open since most of my debit orders are still coming off it and this change only happened after Feb 2013.

Would there still be a problem nevertheless?

Thanks for the time Tim.

Any changes to the bank account details will require you to go into a SARS branch, if you have a received a letter from them asking you to verify the changes. My advice is to call 0800 00 7277 and ask if you need to do so.

Much appreciated.

Will follow your advise.
