I am under the R350 000 threshold but still submitted my 2015 Tax return, will I still get my money?

I submitted my Tax return on the 01/07/2015. I am under the R350 000 threshold, so should I have not submitted it, will it now interfere with me getting my money?

The only expense I claim from is Medical aid. I have submitted it to SARS but I still have not received my Tax return, I haven't received any further correspondence from SARS saying I need to submit any forms and there are no discrepancies, I am owed money.

SARS have not communicated this matter properly and have confused many taxpayers. The R350 000 threshold is ONLY if you have worked for one employer for 12 full months with absolutely no deductions or other income. If you have medical aid then you need to still file. Did you not receive an assessment from SARS after submitting?

I did yes it was the ITA34 assessment. Why is the payment taking so long though? The previous times it took 2-3 days. There is a lady in our office who received hers on Friday (she did hers same day and time as me 01/07) and there are about 7-8 of us in our office who all did it on the same but only 1 has received their money? I also called SARS to follow up and they said its been issued and payment should be made in 2 weeks....

We are hearing this more and more lately, please let me know when payment does get made. We will try follow up from SARS to see if they have changed their processes.

I have also by mistake (when I first applied for e-filing) clicked to issue a return for 2001. I was still in Grade 12 in that year....how do I cancel it?

That is probably what is holding up your refund being paid. Open the 2001 return and click Yes to the question about being unemployed and then submit the return.
