How to treat PAYE for a post doctorate student

Will a person busy with a post doctorate receive any tax breaks or will they have to pay PAYE based on the monthly "salary" received as normal?

Unfortunately, you will have to pay PAYE on your salary based on the normal tax tables.

Please make use of our SARS income tax calculator to work out the tax you should pay on your salary.
