I want to know if I can renew it my self and how much it will cost me to renew? |

You need to navigate to "Services" on top menu bar, then select "Tax Clearance Certificates" down the left hand side and then complete the details. You don't need to pay for it, but you do need to collect at the SARS branch (the queue is shorter for Tax Clearance collection than for general tax queries) |
