Desperate says: 31 December 2015 at 14:36 I am a small employer of 5 people, all earning about R3000-00 pm. I have been told that all of my staff members need to submit to me their tax reference number. Is it correct that every person who has an ID number has already been issued a tax reference number by SARS? If this is the case what is the most effective way of getting the number. I have let my staff call SARS from my office on numerous ocasions to enquire without success. As I believe that there is a deadline for this looming imminently, PLEASE ADVISE. Many thanks |
TaxTim says: 4 January 2016 at 8:21 No, they do not automatically have a tax number, they will need to call SARS themselves to see if they have a tax number. If they don't then they will have to register them for one - How to get a SARS tax number |
