TaxTim says: 5 September 2012 at 10:49 It all depends on whether you have any expenses/deductions that your employer doesn't pay for or pay on your behalf. If everything is paid through work then the PAYE deducted each month takes this all into account and you won't receive a refund or owe SARS any money. If you have other expenses which are paid for out out pocket such as Medical Aid, Pension Fund, Retirement Annuity Fund or Income Protection contributions then these will result in a refund. So it all depends what you have and who pays for what. Check out the TaxTim blog on what can be claimed as a deduction. Bond, car payments and life insurance aren't allowable as a deduction I'm afraid! |
