And I would like to understand how SARS makes calculations because my tax return for a company I worked for 1 month gave me a refund and I was earning very less than I'm earning now in the company I've worked for for 4 years but the tax returns for this company I get no refund. Many thanks and I have been reading other people's questions and your answers are very clear and straight forward you very useful I must say, keep up the good work |

Refunds are only due when you have overpaid your taxes or have other deductions that were not taken into account when your employer deducted the PAYE each month. In the first case when you filed for the year you only worked one month the PAYE was calculated as if you had worked for a full year and therefore you actually were over taxed which resulted in the refund. For the next years when you worked a full year the PAYE would have been calculated properly. I am not sure if you have any other deductions, but if not then this would be the reason you do not get a tax refund from SARS. |
