How can I get my existing tax reference number online?

You can either view it on eFiling or you can check your IRP5. Alternatively, please call SARS on 0800 00 7277.

Thank you. Do I need to be registered for eFiling in order to obtain my tax reference number?

No, but you need to have been registered with SARS for a tax number or your employer should have registered for you.
