How can I get a new SARS number because I was insolvent?

On SARS status I am insolvent, I took my court letter with necessary documents to SARS and they could not assist me with a new tax number as my old one still shows active on their system. What must I do now to get a new tax number?

They are the only ones who can assist here, go back and ask to speak to the branch manager as they need to find a solution to deactivate the old tax number.
