Do I pay PAYE on R5000 per month?

Good day. I earn R5000 per month. My question is this, is there a need for PAYE deductions? And if I pay PAYE do I still need to personally pay tax to SARS at the end of every year? Please explain to me how this works. Is PAYE not already paying the tax you are liable for?

PAYE is tax your employer pays on your behalf each month based on your earnings. If this is your only form of income then you will not have to pay any further tax in. You still need to file a tax return to SARS though to make sure you are up to date.

You will not be paying any tax because your total income is below the tax threshold.
