Harm says: 6 July 2015 at 12:07 I'm renting my properties and have investments in South Africa. I submit my ITR12 every year and pay tax on the South African income. I also have a residence visa and work in Abu Dhabi (UAE) for a UAE company the past 10 years .I visit South Africa once a year and always stay less than 30 days per year. The tax treaty between South Africa and the UAE is still pending. I also comply to all the provisions of S(10)1(o). I do not pay tax on my UAE income. My question is do I have to declare my Abu Dhabi (UAE) salary to SARS and if yes under what heading in the TAX Return ITR12 should it be reported? |
TaxTim says: 6 July 2015 at 21:57 Technically you should include this income, but it is not necessary in practice given you have been out of the country for so long and it certainly won't be taxed in SA. |
