Depreciation claimed on my tax return?

Can I claim depreciation on my laptop if it's older than 3 years and I haven't claimed before? If I can, how do I work out the depreciation value of the laptop? Thanks!

Please make use of our wear and tear calculator in order to work out the amount. You can only claim depreciation if your employer allows you to use your laptop for work purposes.

It is a laptop I bought myself for freelance work.

Yes then you can claim, if it was under R7000 then you can claim the full amount else you must use the calculator.
