Deductions for 3713 motor vehicle allowance

I receive a car allowance listed under code 3713 on my IRP5 in addition to my reimbursive travel claim, listed as 3702. Can I claim any deductions against the 3713 allowance and if so, what deductions will be allowed?

Are you sure this was for the car? Car is usually 3701/3702/3703.

It is listed as Other Allowances on the payslip but is the same amount monthly and only received when a car was purchased.

In theory you cannot claim against this allowance, ask your employer to correct this to 3701 and reissue your IRP5.

Thanks.
What is a 3713 allowance normally used for? So that I can explain this better to them?

- Entertainment allowance
- Tool allowance
