Changing banking details

I would like to find out the following information regarding my banking details. I have recently changed my banking details from Capitec bank to Nedbank. My salary is paid into my Nedbank and debit orders are also connected to this bank. I still use my Capitec bank account and intend to keep it active. I would like to enquire if I need to notify SARS of the change in banking detail and would I also need to go into the SARS branch to make this happen?

Your income tax profile is currently linked to your Capitec bank account.
No update is required if you want to keep your Capitec bank account linked to your income tax profile.

If you want eventually want SARS to use your Nedbank account, an update must be done on SARS eFiling (please remember to update the details on our system too). You can log into eFiling, click on User, Maintain Registered Details and edit your banking details there, Please note, SARS may request to see your documents (3 months bank statement / letter from the bank, proof of your home address (not older than 3 months) and a certified copy of your ID) if you wish to update your banking details in person, you need to go onto the SARS website  to make an appointment, this could allow you to have a telephonic appointment seeing as SARS branches are not taking walking ins just yet.
