KG says: 29 March 2016 at 13:12 My previous employer liquidated on 12 February this year & the liquidation hasn't been completed yet. I am scheduled to move to work in Dubai in mid April on a 3 year non binding contract and I am wondering what would be the best solution to file my tax returns for the 2016 tax year? Just in case I am unable to acquire the liquidators details before I leave for Dubai? Or what can I do if the liquidator does not send me the IRP5? |
TaxTim says: 29 March 2016 at 13:58 If you are unable to obtain your IRP5, you can go to your local police station and Swear an affidavit and submit this to SARS together with payslips / bank statements which would justify your earnings for the year. If you are going to be out of the country from 1 July until filing season closes (30 November) you may need to use the services of a tax practitioner to submit these documents to SARS on your behalf in the event that you are unable to obtain the IRP5 and have to go the affidavit route. |
