TaxTim says: 3 July 2014 at 19:33 Unfortunately not for the state pension, but she can for the amount from the pension fund. However does she earn more than about R100 000 on that pension per year? |
Vis says: 4 July 2014 at 7:44 Thank you for your response. To your question whether she earns more than R100 000 P.A. on the other pension - the answer is no, she earns about R17 000 P.A. on this pension. Her medical expenses is about R10 000 P.A. |
TaxTim says: 4 July 2014 at 11:22 Then she will not be able to claim the medical expenses as she does not pay any tax to be able to be refunded. Only if someone where paying her medical expenses such as her son or daughter because they financially support her would they be able to claim it on their return. |
