Asiphe says: 9 May 2016 at 21:24 In 2014 I was working on campus, and I recently found my payslip from 2014 December showing that I had earned a gross payment of 6540, whereas I only got paid 4340 in my bank account... Could this mean I was taxed? and is it still possible to get refunded? |
TaxTim says: 10 May 2016 at 9:45 It sounds like tax was deducted, unless there was some other deduction - check to see the details on your payslip. It would be best to file a tax return for 2014/2015 to see if you are due a refund. It all depends on your total earnings for the year (i.e. 1 March 2014- 28 Feb 2015) and what tax you paid. If you earned less than R73,650 for this whole tax year then you shouldn't pay any tax at all. Let TaxTim assist you to complete and submit your tax return to SARS to ensure if is done correctly in order to ensure you receive a refund if one is due to you, |
