Can I get a tax refund?

In 2014 I was working on campus, and I recently found my payslip from 2014 December showing that I had earned a gross payment of 6540, whereas I only got paid 4340 in my bank account... Could this mean I was taxed? and is it still possible to get refunded?

It sounds like tax was deducted, unless there was some other deduction - check to see the details on your payslip.
It would be best to file a tax return for 2014/2015 to see if you are due a refund. It all depends on your total earnings for the year (i.e. 1 March 2014- 28 Feb 2015) and what tax you paid. If you earned less than R73,650 for this whole tax year then you shouldn't pay any tax at all.
