I am a salaried employee working in the private sector. I pay PPS (Professional Provident Society) for income protection. Can I claim this off tax?

One further question: I attended a course to learn some new new ultrasound skills for my work. I paid for this myself - Am I able to claim back for this? If I can, can I include the flight and accommodation costs too?

If you are salaried then unfortunately you cannot claim this costs as it is a personal expenses seen as "'capital" do allow you to earn more income from the skills learnt. Similar to going to school/uni.

If your employer pays for courses like this then you won't be taxed and they will be able to claim the deduction.
