On my payslip it is reflected under "taxable perks". "I also paid Vat on Co car" which is showed on my payslip under deductions. I also had a fuel allowance but that is not reflected on my payslip because the company I worked for owns a fuel station and we had "fuel tags". The vehicle was not maintained by me, but I just want to find out if I can claim fuel back as an expense when the vehicle does not belong to me. I also know that the taxable perk means that I paid more tax than just on my basic salary and commission, may I claim this back? |
TaxTim says: 19 June 2015 at 7:46 When you complete your tax return there are questions for owner provided vehicle which you will complete using your logbook - it will ask if the vehicle was maintained and petrol supplied by the company and then work out your business expenses which then gets deducted from your income often resulting in a refund. Register for TaxTim and let us do the work for you by simply asking you a few questions and then filing directly with SARS on your behalf. |
