Good day, I am on a government contract and don't pay any pension fund and medical aid. I only pay UIF and PAYE. Do I fall under the same tax bracket as a permanent employee? Will I maybe get a tax return because I don't have the abovementioned benefits

Yes you do fall under the same tax bracket system, regardless of how you are paid etc everyone is subject to the same tables. However if you had paid pension and medical then in fact you may have been able to claim deductions and therefore get a refund.

You can make use of our SARS income tax calculator to see how much you may or may not receive if you are entitled to a refund.
