As an independent contractor, can study fees be claimed in a tax return?

I'm an independent contractor (SARS code 3616) and would like to find out whether my UNISA study costs can be included in my text return? My degree is related to my job and the agency I contract through does not contribute to my study costs. If my study costs can be claimed, where should the amounts be captured on the claim form?

Unfortunately not, degrees are seen as "captial" - ie it is spent in order to improve you income earning capacity which you will then be taxed on the earnings.
