Tax relief caring for parent that is your dependant?



I have power of attorney for my 90 year old mother's fixed deposit account (small amount). Principal member vs paying member of medical aid



I pay for the medical aid for my family, however my wife is the principal member. Who should account for this on their return?

Dear Tim,What happens to the tax threshold for when one is obligated to pay tax (R63k) when you work for a company for the first few months of the financial year and then you quit to start your own venture from home. Detailed medical accounts - what does SARS accept?



I have hospital accounts with receipts (fully paid) and intend to claim a deduction from SARS with my 2014 tax return, however the hospital accounts ((Mediclinic), only state ward stock, theatre stock and dispensary stock. These items were either for medication or materials given/used. I would like to know if these accounts are adequate with this info or must each and every item used be specified for me to claim a tax rebate?
