Posted 30 April 2015

According to my understanding, such is not deemed to be a formal employment and thus would not be taxable (same as domestic workers), but I just want to make sure. Neither is UIF payable. Now for the tax question:

Multiple Parties Making Rental Income off a Single Property they Each Hold equal ownership of.
Posted 6 April 2015
Good day, myself and two other parties have purchased a house with the intention to earn a rental on the property. My question is: do we split the incomes/expenditures three ways and all declare the third of the overall resulting calculation? It is also important to note that I am a single person and the other two are married in community. Would that mean that I would have to declare a third and then each of them declare two thirds as SARS automatically sees them as a 50:50 and calculates on hal...

Non resident tax payer
Posted 1 March 2015
I am a non resident South African - I have been living outside of the country continuously for approximately 3 years. My only source of income in South Africa is a rental property that I own. I still pay a bond on that property. I have therefore tried to complete my return by noting the above. Is there any other procedures that I should follow as a non resident, in terms of making SARS aware that I am residing outside the country at present?

What EXACTLY does this mean:"Foreign tax credits for this period (6 months) - if you earned money from overseas and any taxwas withheld or paid, include that amount here"?I get rental money (paid into an account in the UK) from a flat I own in London. I have to pay tax on that in the UK. So what does the above mean as far as I am concerned (I'm completing my second IRP6 for 2014-2015 period)?
