Am I still a provisional taxpayer

Written by Marc
Posted 29 June 2015
I was previously running a business as a sole prop and therefore was registered as a provisional taxpayer. I have now registered a business and pay myself a salary from this. Am I still a provisional taxpayer or can I go back to doing one return per year as before? And if so, is there anything I need to do, or just simply no longer submit IRP6's?

Should the company contributions be omitted on the IRP5 if you have resigned?

Written by Marc

I resigned in March this year (2015) and decided to withdraw my provident fund and reinvest it elsewhere. However, I received my IRP5 from my previous employer without the contributions that was made by the company for my provident fund for the last financial year (Feb 2014-Feb 2015). Is this correct?
Should they leave it out because I withdrew my provident fund this year? Does it still affect last financial years contributions?
Or should it still reflect the contributions for last financia...

Personal Tax Return with employer provided vehicle?

I am interested in using your services to help me file my return, but I'm not too sure if mine can be done online as per your services or if I will have to go in to see a tax consultant. The complexity lies in that fact that I have a company vehicle, not a car allowance. On my tax return it is represented as code 3802. Is this something that your services cater to?

How do I prove income I have to declare without a bank statement?

Written by Marc
Posted 25 June 2015
If I have income from freelance work that amounts to a figure higher than the marginal tax rate I presume I have to fill in a tax return. But how do I prove what income I have received. If I ask my bank for a statement older than three months they want to charge me R300 per month going back. This is possibly higher than the tax I'll have to pay. Any thoughts?
