Assessment audited, now, "awaiting case selection approval".

Written by Marc
Posted 13 August 2014
I recently got a completion letter from SARS on my SARS eFiling profile. This was given on the 4th of August 2014. This explained that there had been no adjustments to my previous assessment. I have called SARS for a payment release date and I am told that my assessment is now "waiting case selection approval". This is after having been audited already. Is this a new audit introduced by SARS and if so what is the next step from here?

My company incl my pension& provident in my CTC even though I pay for it , so the amount in the 4001 on my IRP 5 is shows that I pay 6% for my pension /provident fund , if it CTC what about the company's portion?

On my IRP5 I have a Source code of 3702 which is for my non-taxable travel allowance. When I submitted my tax return I received a letter from SARS saying that I need to submit relevant documentation because my non taxable travel allowance exceeds maximum permissible. This is not true as my total amount was only R2211 which is clearly less than the permitted 8000km. As I did not keep a log book what relevant documentation do I need to submit? As I understand, since my travel allowance is less tha...

I submitted my tax return by eFiling on the 25th.7.2014 was then asked to submit supporting documents, which I forwarded on the 28th, and I'd have to wait 5 days for a response. after 7 days, I called into the call centre again. The Provident Fun withdrawal amount was R137,769, I withdrew R32,152.29...
